Hunters Scendix rules in Zangersheide

When Hunters Scendix entered the arena as the 48th participant, only four combinations had succeeded a clear round so far and these qualified were not the slightest : first of all, Quintender 2 (Quinar x Contender) with Nicola Philippaerts, Cartinho Z (Carthago Z x Amor) with the dutchman Gerben Morsink (traditionally a medal candidate at Zangersheide), Eldorado van het Vijverhof (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Omar) with the colombian Dayro Arroyave and at last, but not least Call Me Number One (Cornet Obolensky x Landadel) with the german Linn Zakariasson.
Suddenly, a ghastly silence filled the arena...
But Hunters Scendix acted extraordinary well :greedy and almost effortless, he attacked the fences and ended without faults, nicely within the time granted. So the fifth qualified for the jump-off, was immediately declared the absolute favorite.
With eight combinations still to go – some dangerous competitors amongst them – nothing was won yet. Finally Cicero Z van Paemel with Dirk Demeersman (eliminated in the belgian championship) and Click and Cash 1155 with the swedish Niklas Arvidsson remained without penalties, completing the jump-off team to seven.
This jump-off counted nine fences, turned out to become extremely exciting. Quintender 2 with Nicola Philippaerts had to start first, bur onfortunately earned four penalties. Gerben Morsink with his Cartinho Z set out the time to beat : 48’’02. Eldorado van het Vijverhof with Dayro Arroyave also got four penalties, but Call Me Number One with Linn Zakariasson succeeded in beating the time set by Morsink, ending at 46’’76. Still three combinations to go, when Hunters Scendix entered the arena to show all his efficiency and daring, improving the top time of Zakariasson, so taking the lead with 43’’48. Than came Cicero Z van Paemel (Carthago Z x Rande) with Dirk Demeersman. They went off like a shot, taking the breath away of the audience, but the last fence proved to be one too much as they ended with four faults. Only Click and Cash 1155 (Cashandcarry x Capitol I) could keep off Scendix from a second win, but already after a few fences, they occured some faults, so Hunters Scendix and Brecht Bille could take this well earned title “Sirs of the World” home to the Hunters Studfarm.
