Not less than 130 seven year old horses were disputing this title! To reach the grand final, the mission seemed quite simple : all combinations had to succeed two clear rounds in a 1m40 competition. Only 18 combinations could qualify for this grand final.

At Sunday, after the Lummen Grand Prix, the final was ridden at the Derby Arena.
The programm was as follows: all 18 combinations had to succeed a clear round in a 1m40 to 1m45 competition. Afterwards the start list was remixed : the combinations with the best results were the last to start. Only 16 of them were allowed to start for a second round in a shortened competition. Only two combinations could bring this mission to an end : Gregory Wathelet and our Brecht Bille with Hunters Canatano Z (Canadian River x Caretano Z).
Finally these two competitors had to fight for the title in a jump-off and it was Brecht who had to surrender for the supreme round of Gregory Wathelet.
In the meantime, Canatano Z was crowned best seven year old breeding stallion of Belgium!
Canatano is an approved stallion for AES, having a radiographic approval of the Gent University, and having produced some magnificent descendants in the meantime.

Final result : a silver medal! Another strong performance of the Hunters Studfarm Team!
