Scendix in fine form in Palm Beach

After a very long quarantine period Scendix (Stakkato) seems to carry on very well in West Palm Beach.
During the last few weeks, Eric Lamaze started Scendix in verious competitions.

A summary:

In week 6 of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in West Palm Beach Wellington, Scendix started in two national competitions : one at 1m30 and one at 1m40. Damage was limited to time faults.
In week 7, Scendix started in a 1m40 competition at Wednesday, also taking some time faults. On Thursday, he succeeded in winning the 1m40 competition!. At the end of week 7, he participated to the Suncast 1m50 Championship Jumper Classic.
Unfortunately, he got less luck here, as he had to leave the ring with two faults.
Further he started at Wednesday of week 8 (so, the week from 29/02 till 04/03) in a warming up competition. A small 1m50 competition, where all the “big boys” saddle up their grand prix horse. Here, Eric prefered to finish a quiet clear round, nevertheless taking four time faults.
At Thursday, Eric and Scendix started in the WEF Challenge Round VIII, not quite for softies. It is to be compared to a CSI***GP. Very technical, well measured course, with difficult obstacle colours. 85 competitors took the start, only eleven horses left the ring without jumping faults. Scendix just failed 0,11 seconds at the finish, getting one time fault, still ranking him eleventh.
So we can conclude, the team Eric and Scendix are building up slowly by surely, once the perfect match reached, results will follow automatically...

For the real amateurs follows a short extract of an interview with Eric Lamaze about Scendix, just after the WEF Challenge competition, which he won with another horse, Corriana. (Taken out of “Horse Junkies”).
About Hunter’s Scendix :
“He’s extremely good and he’s extremely careful”, Lamaze said of the nine-year-old hannovarian stallion his Torrey Pines Stable owns in partnership with LVS Hunters of Belgium.
”He reminds me of Hickstead. He’s very much the same type of horse. I have to get used to him and I need to get to know him, but you can’t help but feel excited watching that horse jump.”
So, we’re off for a fantastic season.

See you!
